Fans have taken to Reddit to react to “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah’s cryptic post, which was quickly deleted from their Instagram Stories on Jan. 18, 2023.
The reality star recently faced court after being convicted of fraud, according to NBC News. Shah pleaded guilty to wire fraud for running a telemarketing scheme in July 2022, and the judge overseeing the case later sentenced her to 6.5 years behind bars. In addition, according to People magazine, the judge ordered Shah to seek mental health services after serving her sentence.
Following her sentencing, Shah took to her Instagram Stories to post a message about “truth,” but quickly deleted it, according to Page Six. However, someone was able to take a screenshot of the post and share it on Reddit.
Here’s what you need to know:
Shah has not been particularly active on social media since her sentencing in early January 2023. She chose to post something that suggested she had a lot to say that was different from what the world knows – but then she removed the post.
“There’s something about a woman with a loud mind who sits in silence and smiles because she knows she can crush you with the truth,” read the quote, shared on Shah’s Instagram stories.
Fans took to Reddit to react.
“As if we hadn’t heard her screech about her ‘innocence’ in almost 2 years. She needs to get off social media and prepare to come forward next month,” one comment read.
“Someone let Jen know that the thing about being crushed by the truth is called ‘judgment,’ and it’s already happened,” added another.
“She is mentally ill. I hope mental health treatment helps her,” wrote a third Redditor.
Although there have been rumors that Shah would sit down for an interview before she begins her prison sentence, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
In a statement shared on her Instagram account, Shah said she felt she was in a place where she could answer questions about the case.
“I want and need to share these critical facts. I owe it to those who love and support me to hear the truth,” she wrote. She went on to explain why she decided against sitting down with Andy Cohen for a pre-prison interview.
“I will not do this 1-1 with Andy Cohen and Bravo because they are unwilling to remove contractual provisions that would allow the network to close before and during the legal misrepresentation of me and my story on any subject.” make history of my participation,” she wrote.
She went on to say that she would “prefer to remain silent” until given the opportunity to “accurately share” her story. Finally, she let the public know that she plans to share “this painful part” of her life “very soon.”
According to Vox, Shah is scheduled to begin her sentence on February 17, 2023.
