Tom Schwartz says he can’t wait to become a Vanderpump Rules father.
Days after he was criticized online for an insensitive Instagram post making fun of his wife Katie Maloney having yet to have a baby, the TomTom partner announced that he is finally ready for fatherhood.
In an interview with Hollywood Life, the 33-year-old Bravo star-turned-bar owner said he was ready for his next chapter as a family man.
“Listen, I can’t wait to have children,” Schwartz told the point of sale. He added that it was “great” to see his close friends become parents over the past year.
“I feel like they have all made their progress and I can’t wait to have kids,” he said.
Schwartz and Maloney are one of the few couples in their group of friends who haven’t made the leap into parenthood. In January 2021, Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder and her husband Beau Clark welcomed a baby girl, Hartford, while Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright welcomed a son, Cruz, in April. In addition, the 9NS Season of the Bravo reality show featured the newborn baby of Scheana Shay and Brock Davies, Summer Moon, and Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s baby Ocean, who was born in March 2021.
While Schwartz can’t wait to become a father, he made it clear that he wants to travel first after being incarcerated in California for so long due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I want to see the world a little before we have kids,” he told Hollywood Life. “I’ve never been to Europe! I’ve been to some cool places – Japan, Iceland, but I want to see the world a bit before we have kids because we have a new form of lockdown when we have it. “
Schwartz’s wife made a similar statement in an earlier interview with Bravo Insider.
“Now that the world is opening up, I think I don’t know if I want to run and get pregnant right away,” Maloney said in early 2021. “I think I might want to travel and experience a little life after COVID.”
At the season 9 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, Schwartz announced that he and his wife were trying to have a baby while some of their co-stars were pregnant.
“During the quarantine, Katie and I decided to really go out of our way to have a baby,” he said in a confessional interview shared by BravoTV.com. “There was a two month window that we really worked on it.”
But in May 2021, when the couple’s co-stars were already new parents, Schwartz told People that his baby timeline with Maloney was a little more blurry.
“Without going into too much detail, we and Katie want to have children,” said Schwartz. “As for the schedule, I’m still non-committal, but I’m firm – it’s official, we want children, and I love children.”
While noting that his co-stars’ children were “cute” and “lovable,” Schwartz added, “I don’t have baby fever, but yes, I love some babies.”
