The Masked Singer performers Maize and Mermaid were exposed while Robogirl won the episode

The eighth season of The Masked Singer surprises viewers with new masked singers every week. Unfortunately, this week’s episode was cut short by Major League Baseball’s postseason match. As of now, Fox has not confirmed if The Masked Singer Season 8 Episode 4 will air next week to US viewers. Well, if not, viewers can catch the show on Hulu as the episodes air a day after they’re released on the original platform.

“Andrew Lloyd Webber Night” had three new masked singers – Maize, Mermaid and Robogirl. Well, the most talked about and most glamorous was considered a mermaid. The masked singer sported a glowing half-human, half-fish-like body. In addition, it had a snow-colored face mask studded with beads. The mermaid, seated in a pearl, diffused the pink-blue light that came out of her fins. The live audience cheered as the mermaid sang “I Will Survive.” Read on to follow the mermaid’s clues.

Notes on mermaids

The first clue slipped to FOX for Mermaid mash was “Seashell”. After the star performed and amazed everyone with her melodious voice, another set of clues were dropped, including two pigeons, a vinyl record and a revelation that the famous singer under the mask was once in an accident. After Mermaid’s performance, the audience was informed that the same song was being performed at the Library of Congress.

Mermaid managed to survive the first elimination in the episode. The masked singer was then promoted to Robogirl for the Battle Royale round. However, she stopped there and was exposed. Both the jury and the audience were thrilled to reveal the powerful voice hidden beneath the mermaid’s mask. She turned out to be legendary singer and two-time Grammy winner Gloria Gaynor.

The star’s accident notice was linked to Gaynor’s injury, which she sustained during her concerts. Afterward, she became partially paralyzed and was dropped from her label due to the spinal injury that led to the surgery and bed rest in the hospital for three months. Well, her struggle during this time led her to compose the song “I Will Survive”. Additionally, two references to doves may be related to her Dove Awards in Nashville, where she received two nominations.

After Maize and Mermaid are eliminated from The Masked Singer Season 8 Episode 4, Robogirl will advance along with Harp. Stay tuned to Fox for new episodes of Season 8 of The Masked Singer, which air every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
