An independent bakery in Leeds was reported to Trading Standards for using “illegal sprinkles”. Since then, they have used social media to share an angry (and not to mention hilarious) rant about “Sprinklegate”.
The founder of Get Baked told his 53,000 Facebook followers: “This weekend was absolutely sensational, we had customer visits from countless cities, sold a hell of a lot of Bruce in various forms, oh and not to mention a nice visit to Trading Standards the Friday after someone reported us for the use of what appeared to be illegal sprinkles.
The founder later stated that Trading Standards discontinued the sprinkles imported into the US because they contain dyes that are “not allowed here” after a person complained.
The sprinkles are essential to her best-selling recipes: a Matilda-inspired birthday Bruce chocolate cake and raspberry iced donut biscuits. Now Get Baked is concerned about the difficulty of sourcing new sprinkles in the UK.
He stated that it really caused him to lose sleep and said that “it is very unlikely that we will find any legal sprinkles that we will use as a substitute.”
“British sprinkles just aren’t the same, they totally suck and I hate them,” he added. “Anyone who likes streusel will know what I’m talking about.”
“Sprinkles you can get in this country totally suck.”

He later turned his anger on a man named Dan, referring to the iconic episode of Come Dine With Me.
“Whoever reported Trading Standards to us, (Dan?) I can only say, dear Lord, what a sad little life Jane,” he said.
“My daughter, who is now 7 months old, has to live with the fact that dad can’t take her to Disneyland because the man can’t sell damn cookies.
“Made and done.”
