For the first time this summer, spectators at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo can enjoy a pint on the famous Castle Esplande.

It comes after forging a new partnership with Innis & Gunn, meaning tattoo audiences can now sit back and enjoy world-class performances of military and cultural performances alongside beers from the Edinburgh-based brewery.

As a presenting partner, Innis & Gunn offers bar service for each performance – including the ability for ticket holders to pre-order efficiently ahead of the event and collect upon arrival.

Beverages on offer include Innis & Gunn’s beers ‘The Original’, a cask aged single malt Scottish whiskey ale, and ‘Innis & Gunn Lager’, brewed with naked gold oats for smoothness and refreshment.

In addition to their premium beers, Innis & Gunn’s bars also offer red wine, white wine, prosecco and soft drinks.

In addition to the recommended pre-order and pick-up service, Innis & Gunn bars will also be available throughout the venue prior to the start of the show to ensure no attendees go thirsty.

Buster Howes, Chief Executive of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo said: “The Tattoo and Innis & Gunn are both Edinburgh based, proudly Scottish and loved around the world.

“What better way to enjoy a world-class spectacle than sipping a cold beer in hand against the majestic backdrop of Castle Esplanade for the first time in the show’s history.”

Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Brewmaster of Innis & Gunn added: “We are all incredibly proud to be working with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and giving people a chance to enjoy everything that makes Edinburgh so great in August – iconic beers and an iconic show in Scotland’s most iconic setting, Edinburgh Castle

“Our shared global audience and clearly aligned values make this a natural partnership and we are delighted to add a new dimension to the show this year by offering our award-winning beers to thousands of visitors every night, a first at the Schloss .

“Developing an outstanding consumer proposition to complement an outstanding show is an exciting prospect for Innis & Gunn, and in entering into this long-term partnership, we share that clear goal.”

The Tattoo has been canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic but typically draws hundreds of thousands of people each year alongside large global television audiences.
