“Awww Maci is going home! Hope she comes back next season #sytycd,” one fan tweeted.

If you thought the qualifiers got really hot then brace yourself because the choreography circuit is ready to take it up a notch in Season 17 of ‘SYTYCD’! While each dancer has their own strengths, talents and abilities, only 12 of them will make it and be “chosen to transfer into the ‘SYTYCD’ studio, work with world-renowned choreographers and compete in a variety of styles each week, with brand new twists and turns introduced to the competition.

Choreographed by ‘SYTYCD’ favorite Mandy Moore, the group of dancers had to pass 3 rounds of choreography – the first round being their style, the second a duet and the last a group dance, with eliminations in each section. While it’s easy to dominate a stage when you’re alone, it’s crucial to stand out in these group/duo performances, as any flaw in the choreography is immediately apparent. For Maci, who stunned the judges with her performance in the qualifying tournaments, she was starting to feel the heat as she felt she wasn’t as technically skilled as the other dancers there. Unfortunately, that came true as Maci didn’t make the cut into the 2nd round. Fans were absolutely upset when she saw her leaving and believed she deserved another chance.

“I am so disappointed that Maci had a day off there. We saw how powerful she is, too bad she didn’t benefit from #SYTYCD if in doubt,” one fan tweeted. “So sad to say goodbye to Maci. #SYTYCD,” added another. “Aww I wanted to see Maci pull through that sucks #SYTYCD #SoYouThinkYouCanDance,” added another. “Aww, Macie!! I wanted so badly for her to do well. She should be incredibly proud of all her hard work and getting to this point #SYTYCD,” said one fan. “Awww Maci is going home! Hope she comes back next season #sytycd,” one fan tweeted. “The round was painful for Maci, she didn’t go on. #SoYouThinkYouCanDance #SYTYCD,” noted another.

So You Think You Can Dance season 17 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
