“The internet would shit its pants if RDJ was DCU’s new Lex Luthor,” said one fan

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Is the fate of former Marvel actor Robert Downey Junior leading him to the DC Extended Universe? ‘Iron Man’ star Robert Downey Jr shocked fans with his newly shaved head at the 13th annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. The ‘Iron Man’ actor, 57, stepped out with his gorgeous wife Susan for the glittering ceremony at the Hollywood and Highland Center’s Grand Ballroom.

Fans of the actor were shocked by his bald appearance, a far cry from his usual spiky hairdo, but he still looked dapper in his black tuxedo, accompanied by a black tie and trimmed white shirt, despite being just as dapper as his wife, Susan she was radiant in a simple black maxi dress. After the pictures surfaced online in DC, fans were quick to suggest that RDJ should play Lex Luther “no questions asked”. Already a superhero in the Marvel franchise, maybe audiences can now see him as a supervillain in the DCEU? Downey Jr. suggested playing Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor, but others simply showed their support for the style.

People were quick to take to Twitter when they saw the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ actor’s new appearance. One fan wrote, “He should be Lex Luther in DC movies,” while another asked, “Can we get RDJ as Lex Luthor in the DCEU?” One fan shared, “Rdj could be a great Lex Luthor lol.” One fan tweeted: “But seriously. The internet would piss if RDJ was DCU’s new Lex Luthor,” while another added, “Now that Robert Downey Jr. is bald he looks like he could play DC’s Lex Luther! Call him @wbd.”

It’s unknown what the future holds, but going from a superhero to a supervillain will be an interesting transition considering both franchises are viewed as rivals.

Lex Luthor was originally portrayed as a narcissistic and selfish mad scientist from the 1960s to early 1980s. Since the late 1980s, he has often been portrayed as the power-hungry CEO of LexCorp. He wants to rid the world of Superman, ostensibly because he sees Superman as a threat to humanity, but in reality he envies Superman’s popularity and influence. However, due to his high profile as a supervillain, he has often found himself at odds with Batman and other superheroes in the DC Universe.
