The real housewives of the Potomac becomes more and more explosive from week to week. Season 7 started with a bang, including Ashley Darby’s divorce announcement, talks about colorism and now Mia Thornton’s decision to throw a drink in Wendy Osefo’s face. The drink toss has drawn countless reactions on social media, mostly negative ones aimed at Thornton. The Season 6 newcomer has taken a hit from fans. It appears she has now left the show through multiple social media posts. Fans are demanding changes in this behavior to move the Bravo franchise forward.

The drama between Thornton and Osefo had nothing to do with Thornton. During a girl’s trip to Miami to celebrate Karen Huger’s birthday, Thornton called Peter Thomas and gave him a rundown of the guest list for her private dinner at his South Beach restaurant. During the call, Thomas tells her that he has “beef” with Osefo. His problem concerns a possible delay of a joint venture for restaurants. Thornton tells some of her co-stars about the call, then confronts Osefo about it over dinner.

Confused, Osefo asks why Thornton is so invested. The question between the two women is why Osefo has no “beef” with other men apart from her husband. Thornton is somehow triggered and aggressively throws a drink in Osefo’s face after getting upset over a comment from Osefo about how different they are in their communication styles in their marriages. Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon sided with Thornton, and Osefo never physically retaliates.

In a post that reads: “I had to make you uncomfortable or you would never have moved. -God,” Thornton captioned the photo, “if you’ve had to struggle your whole life to make it, you’re no longer stuck in places that bring forth what you’ve worked so hard to overcome.” Thornton was after emotional about the fight and told her co-stars that she was embarrassed to resort to such behavior because she’d fought so hard not to be like that as a successful adult.

After the episode aired, she seemed to get worse and saw the reactions from fans. In a second caption for the same IG post, she wrote: “For the benefit of my children, family, friends, employees and business associates. I have to move on.” It appears to be her announcement that she is leaving the show after the ordeal.

She shared the same post on her page. Thornton captioned the post: “Next Chapter…”

Fans have continued to flood Thornton’s comments section on her IG posts. In a comment to her post “Next Chapter…” a fan praised Thornton for her actions. “The way you threw that glass in so-and-so’s face was priceless. I don’t find it aggressive at all, on the contrary, you said it very eloquently. Love your energy.” But Thronton didn’t want praise. She commented: “Nobody deserves a drink in their face. I’ve worked too hard to go backwards. Although I appreciate your love and support.”
