Attention, renovation island fans. Host Bryan Baeumler has a new series on HGTV Canada and he’s looking for people to be a part of the show. Here’s what you need to know.
Baeumler took to Instagram on Jan. 18 to share some big news. the renovation island and renovation inc star announced that he is working on a new show for HGTV Canada.
“I’m always up for an adventure. I always take the scenic route. I love helping people,” he wrote. “I’m pretty skilled… and I’ve learned quite a few things in the process. If you are an entrepreneur in Canada who has made a major lifestyle change, found yourself at the end of the road less traveled and thinks you could use some help… I want to visit you!!!”
Baeumler shared a link to the casting page for the as yet untitled show that will follow renovation island Star while he “travels off the beaten path to help people who have left their old lives behind to start a unique business in a rural or remote location.” Based on the lessons he learned while renovating the Caerula Mar Club Resorts his family learned in the Bahamas, Baeumler will help people start their own dream projects.
Producers are looking for people who have made a major location or lifestyle change to pursue their dream business. You should also need Baeumler’s help with a renovation roadblock, be it financial, logistical or family related. In particular, they’re looking for people with an out-of-the-way, tourism-related business — like a small hotel, bed and breakfast, winery, farm, or brewery — or something completely new. The business should be located in a remote or rural area and the project must include both residential and commercial space. Those that are selected must have secured funding for their project and design plans. In addition, they must be available for one to two weeks of filming in the spring and fall of 2023.

In his post, Baeumler also shared a brief update on the previously announced show Renovation resort, which he will host alongside his “nemesis” Scott McGillivray Holiday Home Rules. The competitive series follows four different teams, each working to modernize a cabin at a seedy lakeside resort.
Baumler says so Renovation resort will air on HGTV in April 2023, although the network has not confirmed that release date. In the meantime, fans can catch up on old episodes of renovation island, currently streaming on Discovery+.
