QATARI officials have offered refunds and free accommodation to fans stuck in run-down tent villages at the World Cup.

Since the start of the World Cup, reports have poured in of angry fans being forced to pay £175 a night to stay in rubbish shacks with leaking toilets and six-hour queues.

Qatar has rushed to set up a series of “fan villages” to accommodate the more than one million fans who will travel to the country during the four-week tournament.

The country’s Supreme Committee confirmed to The Sun Online that it is aware of the problems fans are facing.
