There seems to be little logic behind the movies and TV shows that dominate Netflix’s top 10 ranking.
Sometimes it’s the streaming service’s latest original offering — sometimes it’s a random forgotten thriller from more than a decade ago.
interceptorthe film, which currently tops Netflix rankings in a number of countries including the UK, falls into the former category.
Posted June 3, interceptor follows an army captain (played by Elsa Pataky) as he attempts to avert a missile attack on the United States.
Despite its rise to the top of the Netflix rankings, the film received poor reviews, earning a critics’ rating of 44 percent on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. It fares even worse in audience reviews, scoring just 26 percent.
Viewers have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the film, with many condemning it as “one of Netflix’s worst.”
“If you have an hour and 40 minutes of your life that you never want to take back, look at it interceptor on Netflix it’s pure shit,” one person wrote.
“interceptor was by far one of the worst movies I’ve seen on Netflix. Wow,” wrote another unimpressed viewer.
“If you’re looking for a movie to watch on Netflix, interceptor is to be avoided at all costs. I repeat, don’t go there,” another warned.
However, some others were more positive towards the film.
“Okay…that interceptor The movie is one of the best I’ve seen on Netflix,” one person claimed.
“#Interceptor on #Netflix is one hell of a badass action film. It has a badass female leadership stopping a band of US terrorists from destroying the last intercept base to allow nuclear strikes on US soil. The usual guys give this movie s***. Don’t listen to them,” wrote another.
The Interceptor is now available to stream on Netflix.
