Melissa Gorga responded to recent comment by her sister-in-law Teresa Giudice about her tenure with The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Melissa, who is married to Teresa’s brother Joe Gorga, officially joined the full-time cast of the Bravo reality show in 2011, two years after Teresa made her debut on the show on the first season per IMDb.

Teresa has long had an issue with her sister-in-law’s place on the show, and Melissa’s status as an “OG” housewife was challenged when the two women were selected for Peacock spin-off “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” . “

Filmed in Turks and Caicos Islands earlier this year, the housewives mashup features several original or OG stars from the franchise, including Teresa von RHONJ, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer from “The Real Housewives of New York City” and “Real Housewives”. from Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards. But Teresa specifically addressed Melissa’s place on the show.

In a teaser shared on Twitter, Teresa can be seen commenting on the women in the “RHUGT” cast.

“These are not all OGs,” she says annoyed. “Melissa is not an OG. Just saying.”

It was definitely shady that Teresa labeled Melissa a “no OG” considering the cast also includes Real Housewives of Atlanta actors Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey, both of whom came late to their franchise. But it’s no big surprise, as Teresa previously claimed Melissa was cast on RHONJ behind her back. According to, she brought up the topic at BravoCon in 2019.

About her brother Joe and his wife Melissa, who joined the cast in season 3, she said, “Well, unfortunately, that was the only sad thing for me during this whole show, not just the legal stuff, but the family stuff as well. My family came on the show behind my back and that was the worst thing that could ever happen to me. That’s why I don’t speak to you [my cousin] Kathy [Wakile] no longer. I’ll never speak to her or [my cousin] Rosie [Pierri] never again, because I don’t want a family like that. But my brother and Melissa, for my parents of course, I have forgiven them. “

She also claimed that Melissa blew up a story about cookies she brought to a family reunion on Christmas Eve, which caught the eye – and a place with the housewives.

“She came over Christmas Eve, she’s pregnant, she’s bringing scatter cookies, you know, from ShopRite – in a plastic can!” Remembered Teresa. “So I said nice to her, I said, ‘Bring some cookies next time. So she made this bloody big deal, posted it on Facebook, and got Bravo’s attention. And the rest is history. “

Melissa had a few things to say about the cast selected for the Bravo Girls Trip, as well as her sister-in-law’s demeanor in how she got there. In an interview with Us Weekly, the RHONJ star said she was “curious” to see if women from the different cities of the Bravo franchise would “team up”, but that the cities that play “in pairs” – like her and Teresa – ended up having the most conflicts.

Then she addressed Teresa’s comments that she was not an original actor.

“It always comes down – when we break the fourth wall – it becomes, ‘How did you get on the show?'” Melissa said. “And then it becomes a conversation that Teresa and I will never agree on. So we’ve had that conversation again and I think we have to see how that turns out. But it’s one of those things that I think Teresa refuses to do to this day to accept the fact that I’m on this show, and in a fair way, that I’m on the show. “
