Mauricio Umansky is in the midst of their family feud with his wife, Kyle Richards.
During a recent appearance on Nov. 22 on E! News, the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star’s husband opened up about how he’s been supportive of Richards through it all and if there’s potential for a reconciliation between Richards and Kathy Hilton.
“I’ve always supported her 100 percent no matter what she does,” Umansky told hosts Adrienne Bailon and Justin Sylvester.
Umansky continued, “If she wants a reconciliation, I’m all for it. If she’s not ready to reconcile and she just needs to stick it out a little longer, I support her 100%.”
Things aren’t going too well between Richards and her sister Hilton at the moment. It all started last season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” when Lisa Rinna accused Hilton of having a “meltdown” and saying “horrible” things about her sister, Kyle Richards, on her cast trip to Aspen with her RHOBH co- stars. This created a wedge between Hilton and Richards as Hilton felt her sister wasn’t defending her enough against Rinna.
Things got particularly heated during the RHOBH reunion, and the two still stand on rocky ground to this day.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada in an interview published Nov. 22, the “Buying Beverly Hills” star spoke more about the family drama and why it puts him in a “difficult position.”
“It’s a crazy position for me,” Umansky admitted to the outlet. “And I, you know, you’re definitely in a difficult position there. I think I stayed out of my family dynamic, you know, from that perspective, on purpose. I guess I’ll have to keep my comments.”
After a tough season, Richards is upset about her falling out with her sister. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in May 2022, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star admitted she was saddened by the whole thing.
“It was very upsetting,” Richards said of her feud with Hilton. “You know obviously I was excited to have my sister on the show, I’m the one who wanted her on the show so it was upsetting. It is difficult. It’s really hard to do reality TV with family. It’s easy.”
Richards also revealed that it was really “frustrating” that some of her RHOBH co-stars were involved in her drama with Hilton.
“It’s actually really frustrating, especially when they don’t have a backstory,” Richards told the outlet at the time. “That was always the hardest thing for me, even going back to season one with my sister Kim [Richards]people would make judgments and they had no idea what was going on behind the scenes or where I was from.”
Richards continued, “Your hands are kind of tied because you can’t explain it [certain things] because it’s family. Where if it is [drama with] one of the cast, you’re going to say, ‘okay, that’s actually what’s going on, what happened…’ so you’re kind of at a disadvantage in that regard.”
