Former friends and co-stars of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and NeNe Leakes, met again at a women’s show after stifling allegations.

On Sunday, November 14th, 2021, both Kim and NeNe attended an Ultimate Women’s Expo in Atlanta and even shared the stage to hug, hold hands and say hello to fans.

That show of friendship comes just weeks after it was revealed that NeNe Kim almost choked off the camera during season two of RHOA.

The full story was detailed in the housewives book Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of the Real Housewives From the People Who Lived It by Dave Quinn and reported by People on October 19, 2021.

RHOA producer Carlos King spilled the tea over the alleged incident.

“The arguments between Kim and NeNe were always the next level. The whole season 2 they went back and forth, fought and reconciled, ”she said in the book. “Then there was an off-camera incident where NeNe allegedly tried to choke Kim in a Target parking lot.”

Shereé Whitfield, her RHOA co-star, was there over the alleged altercation and gave her the same book.

According to Whitfield, NeNe and Kim were waiting to film, but NeNe was upset “because Kim allegedly talked about them behind her back at the A-List Awards”. They started arguing and “NeNe grabbed Kim by the neck and choked her,” Whitfield said in the book.

“She pounced on them twice,” she said in the book. “Kim finally called the police but dropped the charges. The cameras were in the shop, so they missed the whole thing. “

Season 2 aired between July 30, 2009 and November 12, 2009, but would have been filmed at least six months earlier, which means the altercation more than 10 years ago. But the fans are now experiencing it for the first time.

Neither Kim nor NeNe have commented on the allegations, and both declined to be interviewed for the book, according to People.

On May 17, 2020, Kim appeared on See what happens live to Andy Cohen and gave an update on her relationship with NeNe, but this was long before the asphyxiation allegations were made public.

“It wasn’t like we were reconciled,” said Kim Andy Cohen on the show, as reported by The Daily Dish. “We started talking a few years ago, and we chat here and there by text. And I haven’t really talked to her since we made ours [Instagram] Live. She did a lot of lives I see. We follow each other. It’s all right. We are cool.”

The drama with NeNe wasn’t the only hurdle for Kim. Shortly before her final episodes on the show, she was often accused of not wanting to film or attend group events because of her pregnancy, according to People.

Another co-star co-star, Cynthia Bailey, believed Kim was being held to varying standards by RHOA during this time because of her only white performer, according to her interview with Quinn for The Housewives’ Book.
