Lewis Capaldi overtakes Ed Sheeran with Britain’s most-streamed song of all time

LEWIS Capaldi has overtaken Ed Sheeran with Britain’s most-streamed song of all time – and he joked: “Nice Guys Finish End.”

The 26-year-old Scot’s “Someone You Loved” topped Ed’s “Shape Of You” in a list compiled to mark the 70th anniversary of the official singles chart.

It gained 562 million audio and video streams.

Ed’s was the only other song to top 500 million — but not enough.

Capaldi billed himself as the “King of Music” when he received an award and an inflatable crown from the Official Charts Company.

He said Sheeran, 31 – who co-wrote with him – was “like a brother. . . a mentor”.

But he nodded: “To Ed I say, ‘Eat my s**t’.
