Katie Kortman, fashion designer and season 19 contestant of ‘Project Runway’, once vowed not to buy clothes, and has never looked back since!
‘Project Runway’ is an American reality TV series that focuses on fashion design. In the series, contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes, but there is a catch! You are limited by time, material and topic. In addition, their designs are then judged by a jury and one or more designers are excluded from the show each week. While the finalists have the chance to showcase their creations at New York Fashion Week (NYFW), the number 1 winner will take home a cash prize of $ 250,000!
“Project Runway” was created by Eli Holzman and moderated from 2004 to 2017 by supermodel Heidi Klum. The show returned to Bravo in 2018 after The Weinstein Company went bankrupt. Both Klum and the designers’ mentor Tim Gunn left the show in 2018 to direct another fashion competition show called “Making the Cut” on Amazon Video.

Katie takes great pride in creating ready-made, colorful designs and prints that women can easily use for multiple occasions. Her family recently moved and moved to Japan, again because of her husband’s job demands. Today Katie is focused on taking inspiration from her new cultural environment.
Kortman is also the proud owner of a website that sells her designs and also teaches the art of sewing! She also runs an online design shop called “Spoonflower”. Stay tuned to the show’s theme to see if Katie will take home the big check this season.
