Kard release their fifth mini-album for their summer comeback after member J.seph completed his mandatory military service

It’s been a while since we’ve seen our favorite K-pop co-ed group Kard. Since J.seph was the only eligible Korean male, he enlisted for his mandatory military service while the group went on something of an unofficial hiatus. While BM was releasing singles, Somin was busy with modeling and her YouTube channel, and recent member Jiwoo was making waves with survival shows like Double Trouble.

Now that J.seph finally completed his military service and was released in April, BM teased that Kard would be having a summer comeback and her next world tour. It looks like they’ve stayed true to their words as the co-ed group will return with their fifth K-pop mini-album, Re. Kard’s most recent comeback was in the summer of 2020 with the release of her single album Way with Words and hit lead track Gunshot. “Re” is Kard’s first comeback following the merger of her label DSP with Mamamoo’s label RBW, which has led to high expectations.

Kard’s fifth mini album will be available on all major music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn and more.

Release date and time

Following dark and emo concepts, Kard takes a glamorous path for “Re” as they released bright concept photos of the members in high fashion outfits, blurry shots and glowing props. In the first concept photo, Kard looks ready to hit the runway in tie-dye outfits, holographic makeup and edgy jewelry. For the second concept photo, they take a futuristic approach with silver outfits, white and glittery makeup against a washed out background.

Kard has released a music video teaser for Ring The Alarm. In the colorful teaser, we see the K-pop group introspecting. Somin stares at an aquarium while BM leans against a car. Jiwoo looks grumpy while waiting for something in a pastel-lit cafe while J.seph stares at the artwork in an empty room. In the background we hear the instrumentals from “Ring The Alarm” which have a groovy rhythm as the members dance to the Moombahton track.
