LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Anne Hathaway recently made headlines with her spectacular clothing choices that closely resembled Andy from The Devil Wears Prada. Hathaway has managed to turn her fans’ heads once again as she discusses the third part of The Princess Diaries. The coming-of-age comedy was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Garry Marshall. Loosely based on Meg Cabot’s 2000 young adult novel of the same name, the film was written by Gina Wendkos and starred Anne Hathaway (her feature debut) and Julie Andrews with a supporting cast consisting of Hector Elizondo, Heather Matarazzo, Mandy Moore, Caroline Goodall and Robert Schwartzman.
It’s understandable why Hathaway is so passionate about the film franchise. A month ago, Julie Andrews admitted that it’s very unlikely she would return if Princess Diaries 3 happens, as she thinks “it probably won’t be possible” given her age portrayed in the film . Regardless, Hathaway seems pretty excited after seeing the excited reaction from fans to the possibility of Princess Diaries 3.
Anne Hathaway reveals spooky question from a reporter
“We feel the same way, and I know it’s probably very frustrating,” she said. “It’s a process that takes patience, and that’s why everyone should now consider themselves part of the film business, because that’s actually how long it takes to make things.”
Also in November, it was confirmed that another chapter in The Princess Diaries saga is in the works at Disney and will be written by Aadrita Mukerji. It has also been reported that Debra Martin Chase is returning to produce the new film. Hathaway, who hasn’t officially signed on for the new film, had expressed interest in being a part of a new Princess Diaries movie.
Anne Hathaway’s debut film was an unexpected commercial success, grossing over $165 million worldwide. Although Hathaway’s performance received mixed reviews for its plot and themes, it was widely praised by film critics.
