Tyler Perry has revealed why he lent his Southern California home to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when the couple first moved to America in 2020
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave up their roles in the royal family and emigrated to the United States in 2020, Tyler Perry offered them his $18 million Beverly Hills mansion for their personal use.
Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bought their own $14.65 million home in Montecito, California, they briefly lived with their then-1-year-old son Archie at Tyler’s Beverly Hills mansion after announcing their intention to give up royal duties and move to California in 2020. The 53-year-old actor, comedian and producer stressed that it had been a “very difficult time for her” and has now clarified why he has been helping the couple since he wanted to “support” her. The director also explained that Harry and Meghan’s love inspired him, telling the Today Show: “What I know about the two of them – and I wish the world knew – how much these two people love each other all these odds against them, each other to find, they found themselves. The love they have is really, really moving and I wanted to do whatever I could to support them. He said of Meghan and Harry’s relationship: “If I don’t have what she and Harry have, I don’t want it. This is really amazing.”
