He wanted to realize his dream of emigrating on Mallorca, now Jürgen Albers could face life behind bars. The TV star was arrested after a drug raid.

Jürgen Albers emigrated to Mallorca with his family eight years ago. Accompanied by TV cameras from the Vox show “Goodbye Germany”, he wanted to start a new life and revive the discotheque “Das Karussell” in Cala Millor. But although the 60-year-old spared no expense or effort for the project, his dream fell through. The disco had to close and his marriage fell apart.

Albers returned to Germany some time ago. In Eschweiler, North Rhine-Westphalia, he built a new existence with an engineering office for automotive technology, and got his life back under control – at least apparently. Because behind the bourgeois facade, the businessman is said to have been involved in illegal business. And that on a grand scale.

As RTL reports, the TV star’s house was also searched in a large-scale raid. Due to an existing arrest warrant, Albers was taken into custody and is currently in custody. The allegation: He is said to belong to a drug ring that is accused of trafficking in 436 kilograms of cocaine worth around 43 million euros.

Three alarm pistols were also confiscated during the search. “The 60-year-old is a man who has become known as an actor and author on TV,” confirmed the Aachen public prosecutor at the station’s request. Albers lawyer Peter Nickel told RTL: “My client intends to work cooperatively with the investigative authorities and denies the allegations.”

In the raid in Belgium and Germany at the end of October, a total of 118 properties were searched and 66 suspects were arrested, according to the report. They are accused of Europe-wide trafficking in cocaine, which they are said to have smuggled into Europe from South America by sea. Jürgen Albers is said to be one of them. It is not yet known what punishment he will face.
