On July 16, Britney posted a video of herself singing and grooving to “Baby One More Time” while doing her laundry
Pop icon Britney Spears is ready to release new music after a nearly six-year hiatus after she reportedly recorded a version of the 1971 hit “Tiny Dancer” with Elton John at a Beverly Hills recording studio. The song regained popularity after being featured in the 2000 Cameron Crowe film Almost Famous.
Variety reported that the track is set to be released by Universal Music in August. Grammy winner Andrew Watt, who has worked with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Pearl Jam and Ozzy Osbourne, is said to be executive producer. The collaboration would mark Britney’s first return to music after her conservatory ended in November 2021.
2022 has been quite a ride for Britney. She snagged a mammoth $15 million deal for her memoir and married boyfriend Sam Asghari in June. The ‘Criminal’ singer met her now-husband Asghari on the set of their music video for ‘Slumber Party’ in October 2016. They went public with their relationship in January 2017 and got engaged in September 2021. The wedding was nothing short of a thriller, with her ex-husband Jason Alexander falling with a knife and later being arrested.
The pop star regularly posts videos on Instagram in which he sings and dances. On July 16, she posted an a cappella version of her singing and groove to “Baby One More Time” while doing her laundry. The artist also regularly posts about mental health issues, which she has dealt with enough in the past.
Britney also recently took social media by storm when she posted nude pictures of herself on Instagram in her London hotel room on Thursday, July 21, looking at the camera in the pictures.
In another series of pictures, the ‘Toxic’ singer cupped her breasts in her hands while posing on her plush bed. She captioned the second post, “Waking up in London with my cabo thong!!!” The singer wears just a necklace and a turquoise leopard print thong that she appears to have bought in Mexico.
In 2021, Britney’s guardianship ended, meaning she was in full control of her assets. The #FreeBritney movement gained momentum around the world. After 13 long years, Britney’s father Jamie Spears was removed from the position of conservator by a court. The move comes after an intense legal battle in which the pop icon accused her father of misusing her funds.
Jamie Spears was legally appointed her conservator in 2008 after her infamous public mental health meltdown. However, reports have surfaced over the years claiming that Jamie exploited her for money and status while he emotionally abused her for years.
