LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and BAFTA, we now have the Oscars. The 95th Academy Awards is fast approaching and ready to celebrate nearly a decade of filmmaking colloquially known as the Oscars. Although audience numbers at this grandiose awards show fluctuate, it’s still considered the industry standard for selecting the best films and performances of the year.
However, the 94th Academy Awards will be unforgettable for everyone as they witnessed Will Smith slap last year’s host Chris Rock out of nowhere. As every year, in late January or early February, the Academy selects two individuals (usually celebrities or other distinguished members of the Academy) to announce the nominees live. If you don’t want to miss it, read on to find out if your favorite film of the year has been selected in any category at this prestigious awards ceremony.
