The “Giovanni Zarrella Show” ran for the second time on Saturday evening. Florian Silbereisen also shows himself on TV with a similar format. But which of the two is actually better received by the audience?
He is the new face of ZDF: In September Giovanni Zarrella flickered for the first time with his own hit program on the screens. In the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”, the ex-Bro’Sis star welcomes numerous artists on stage. They all perform one of their songs and then chat with the moderator on the sofa.
The format reminds many of the programs by Florian Silbereisen, which can be seen again and again in Das Erste. Especially the stars who appear regularly on his show are now guests of Giovanni Zarrella. In the second edition, for example, Maite Kelly performed several songs, including Kerstin Ott, Ben Zucker, Michelle and Marie Reim on the show.
From the beginning Giovanni Zarrella was seen as Florian Silbereisen’s great competition. But can the Italian singer really keep up with Helene Fischer’s ex? Yes! The first edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” attracted 3.81 million people in front of the television, the second episode even made it to 4.85 million viewers.
If you compare that with Florian Silbereisen’s audience rating, Zarrella is pretty close on the heels of the ARD star. Silbereisen’s “Schlagerbooom”, which was shown on the first on October 23, had 5.27 million viewers – at Zarrella there were just 420,000 fewer people.
In September, the 43-year-old was even more successful than his three years younger competition. The “Schlagerchallenge”, hosted by Florian Silbereisen on September 4th, “only” had 3.69 million viewers. A week later the first edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show” ran – and it reached 3.81 million people.
