Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now been informed that only working British royals are allowed to attend the reception ahead of the Queen’s funeral

UNITED KINGDOM: According to the Telegraph, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have failed to receive an invitation to the pre-funeral reception of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

The couple have been invited to the prestigious gathering of international leaders and foreign royals hosted by King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla. However, it appears they have now been informed that only active British royals will be admitted to the pre-funeral reception. As the Telegraph reports, it’s still unknown if Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, were ever invited, although royal officials said they are unlikely to go. The pair “seemed dumbfounded,” according to sources speaking to the publication, at the apparent mix-up. The pre-funeral reception may not limit Prince Harry and his wife, but it will host some of the world’s most notable names and dignitaries. Scores of heads of state are due to arrive in London ahead of the monarch’s royal funeral on Monday September 19, including President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron. Along with Prince William, Kate Middleton and the rest of the royal family, Meghan and Harry have been in the UK for some time to pay their respects to the late Queen. The couple has also reconnected with the British public on their trips to the public.
