Some fans of “Dancing With the Stars” are already annoyed ahead of the show’s season 31 airing.
On September 18, 2022, the show confirmed there would be an elimination on the first night of the competition, breaking with tradition of waiting until the end of the second episode to eliminate a couple.
“Do you have a #DWTS favorite?” the post reads. “Voting begins with the premiere of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ on Monday at 8ET/5PT and ends after the final competitive dance, so make sure to stream on #DisneyPlus and save a couple from elimination on the first night!”
Some Dancing With the Stars fans are upset that there will be an elimination on the first night of the competition.
Fans took to Reddit to express their dissatisfaction.
“Really? It sucks that someone is going home already,” one person wrote. “I think week 1 should always be a non-elimination to give couples time to adjust and do more than one dance.”
Another person commented, “Wow that’s hard and too bad I wish it wasn’t.”
Others would have liked to have structured the season differently.
“Why wouldn’t they do an extra double elimination?” one person wrote. “To be eliminated in week 1 just seems unfair to me especially as it’s the first time they’ve all danced and some have harder dances than others.”
Another commented: “Tbh would have preferred another double elimination than having someone in week 1.”
Each of the dances expected for the first episode of season 31 of Dancing With the Stars has been announced in advance.
