EMMERDALE and Coronation Street were furious tonight as their favorite ITV soaps were cancelled.

Both popular weekday shows aired because of the World Cup.

In a shake up of ITV’s usual schedule, the soaps were bitten to make way for the USA v Wales game.

But that infuriated Emmerdale and Corrie fans, with one vent: “Fucking football! The soaps are always the first to be moved!”

While another said: “Why are soaps moving around there for good reason because of football? #eastenders #emmerdale #Corrie.”

This soap fan wasn’t happy: “The World Cup will ruin the live tweeting of #Emmerdale and #Corrie. Some have already seen this week’s episodes.”

The ITV soap operas face a planning nightmare as Qatar football competition continues

The football tournament, which runs until December 8, will be broadcast on both ITV and the BBC – with the soap schedules in chaos as a result.

Emmerdale normally airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

And Corrie follows with hour-long editions at 8pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

But with the soaps being buffed tonight, there will be an hour-long Emmerdale tomorrow from 7pm to catch up on the missed episode.

This will be followed by another hour-long episode on Wednesday from 7pm, followed by Coronation Street as usual at 8pm for the first episode of the week.

Thursday at 7 p.m. there will be another hour of Emmerdale.

In another change, Corrie will then air immediately afterwards at 8 p.m. with an hour-long episode, the week’s finale.

Neither soap will air on Friday night when England take on the USA in the World Cup.
