GAC Media and Hallmark entertainer Candace Cameron Bure shared a touching post on her Instagram page on Sunday, September 18, which sparked a surge of support. Bure’s uploaded photo showed her two sons together with her husband, and they were gathered to celebrate something important.
Here’s what you need to know:
The Instagram post caption, shared by Bure, explained that the family “honors and celebrates the life of my grandma Jeanne.” She noted it was “a beautiful family day,” and they celebrated because her grandmother “finally got to see Pop Pop, her husband of 68, and they worship God in heaven together.” Bure noted that her grandparents had “five children, 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.”
Bure’s grandmother, Jeanne Bausmith, lived to the age of 98. “She was upbeat and fun to the end!” The GAC Family star remarked, adding, “What a legacy she left behind.” Bure’s mom also shared a post about the gathering on her Instagram page. The first photo on Barbara Cameron’s social media post showed the headstone for her mother and father. It seemed like the couple’s loved ones had gathered for the first time to see the headstone and celebrate the two’s reunion.
“Today was the day we laid our mother and father at their Conejo Mountain resting place at the Funeral Home,” Barbara Cameron wrote. She explained that they “celebrated her mother’s life with an original song sung by our beloved Kenzie Mae” while sharing “fond memories of the caring, loving, kind, adventurous, fun, strong, vibrant woman she was, shared”. The headstone noted that family patriarch Frank Bausmith died in November 2013, while Jeanne died in November 2021. Now the family had “joined their ashes and together they will be forever and ever.”
Bure had shared photos of her grandmother on social media here and there. The last Instagram post with Jeanne came on October 9, 2021, just a few weeks before her death. Posing with her grandmother and daughter, Bure explained: “She’s 98 years old and as sassy as ever. We know where we got it from.”
Bure’s post celebrating her grandmother on Sunday was flooded with support. Her colleagues Andrea Barber, Jill Wagner, Danica McKellar and Jen Lilley all posted sweet comments, as did many of Bure’s fans. A comment from the Instagram page for GAC TV read: “A life well lived. Prayers for Grandma Jeanne and her family as you mourn her loss.”
“I’m sorry for your loss, but I’m so lucky you had her in your life. I hope you can see her in heaven someday!” wrote one fan.
“Such a beautiful testament to your grandmother’s legacy!” added another.
“I thank God for her and Pop Pop’s lives and for being back together. I wish I could have been there today!” shared one of Bure’s nieces, Olivia Cameron. She also commented on her grandmother’s Instagram post with similar feelings about her great-grandmother and wished she could have joined the family in the celebration.
