Happy Thanksgiving Day 2021! Most retailers keep their doors closed on this holiday, including ALDI and Trader Joe’s. Both grocery chains are closed for Thanksgiving.

If you need to bring an extra ingredient to your family’s feast, other grocery chains like Kroger and Whole Foods are open for limited hours today.

On November 23, ALDI posted on its national Facebook page: “Our stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, November 25th, as we are spending time with our families and friends. 🍂 I wish you all a peaceful, relaxing, healthy and happy Thanksgiving! “

ALDI traditionally closes on four major public holidays a year. According to ALDI’s website, the chain’s more than 2,000 branches are always closed:

ALDI will remain open on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve. But most stores are open at more restricted hours on these days.

Heavy confirmed with an ALDI spokesman that the shops will reopen at their usual time on Black Friday. Here you can check the opening times of individual branches with the ALDI online shop locator tool. ALDI has locations in 36 states.

ALDI continues to provide targeted times for customers who are more at risk from COVID-19. The ALDI website states that Tuesdays and Thursdays the first hour of business is reserved for “vulnerable buyers, including the elderly, expectant mothers and health-impaired buyers”.

Most of Trader Joe’s locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and are expected to reopen at the usual time on Black Friday. Trader Joe’s has stores in 42 states and Washington, DC. You can check the opening hours of the location closest to you by searching here.

Trader Joe’s also has a long list of recipes on their website. Before Thanksgiving, the chain was promoting a recipe for “maple, rosemary, butternut squash with walnuts.” Follow this recipe here.
