“One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single,” wrote rapper Drake of Adele’s latest comeback single
After a break of over six years, Adele once again took the music world by storm with her brilliant comeback single “Easy On Me”. The music video released on October 15, 2021 has already garnered more than 2 million views on YouTube, and the trend is rising. Emotional Adele fans took social media by storm when they were overwhelmed by the heartbreaking lyrics and of course Adele’s incredible singing.
The track, believed to be dedicated to Adele’s son, speaks from a perspective in which she tries to explain her divorce to her child. The track is already named a potential Grammy winner and hailed by Drake and Niall Horan. “One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single,” Drake recently posted on his Instagram story. Meanwhile, Adele fans are asking for a day off just to hear their favorite singer’s new single on a loop, without a break.
Within two hours of its release, ‘Easy On Me’ climbed to # 1 on US iTunes. The grayscale music video directed by Xavier Dolan and filmed by André Turpin was also very much appreciated for its hauntingly beautiful execution.
Zach Sang of the Zach Sang Show celebrity shared, “I ordered a whole pizza because of Adele and will eat it alone.”
“@Adele goes #EasyOnMe (& @Hunt_Saenz) with the rest of this album.
“It doesn’t matter if Adele sings the Hokey Pokey, it will make me cry AND be a blast,” wrote journalist Amy McCarthy.
Sports journalist Leah Vann couldn’t hold back her emotions after hearing ‘Easy On Me’ when she tweeted: “It’s Thursday night. Adele drops a single. You cry into your wine even though your love life (or the lack of it) is not a drama. But you’re kind of wondering – who can I break the heart of at this moment? My soccer teams? My third grade crush who’s probably getting married? “
“The new Adele single explains to her young son why she left his father, which is far sadder than anything she’s ever written before. And it’s so good,” tweeted Molly Knight.
