Hallmark’s latest film “The Wedding Veil” is already breaking audience records set by the best Hallmark films of 2021. “The Wedding Veil” premiered on January 8, 2022.
The Twitter account @SleepyKittyPaw, Using Statistics from ShowBuzzDaily, has compiled the live ratings for Hallmark’s Christmas films versus its regular films throughout 2021. These audience figures showed that The Wedding Veil outperformed all of Hallmark’s 2021 films, including the Christmas films, in terms of live viewers.
According to ShowBuzzDaily numbers, The Wedding Veil reached 3.394 million live viewers and hit 0.29 in the 18-49 demographic (and 0.39 specifically for women in the 18-49 demographic).
Those live numbers are higher than the 10 best Hallmark films of 2021.
“The Wedding Veil” beat “Christmas at Castle Heart” with 3.394 million in front of the 3.31 million live viewers of the Christmas film. This also means that “The Wedding Veil” outperformed any non-Christmas film Hallmark aired throughout 2021.
The demo numbers still didn’t match Hallmark’s top films. “The Christmas Contest” had the best demo numbers of 2021 with 0.38 compared to 0.29 for “The Wedding Veil”.
“The Wedding Veil” also outperformed the rest of the original non-sports television shows in terms of live viewers on Saturday night. In terms of ranking, the film took tenth place among all original programs and was only beaten by sports programs.
In 2021, “Christmas at Castle Hart” had the most views of the year, followed by “My Christmas Family Tree” and “A Royal Queens Christmas”. The only non-Christmas film of 2021 that made it into Hallmark’s Top 10 (in terms of live viewers) was “Taking a Shot at Love” with 2.99 million viewers. The huge audience that “The Wedding Veil” won so early in January sets the bar high for the rest of the films this year.
On Sunday night, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ new movie “North to Home” had just over 1 million live viewers according to ShowBuzzDaily, ranking 55th 49th demographically that night.
However, “North to Home” faced a lot of competition on Sunday night. The top non-sport shows that day were “90 Day Fiance” with 2.17 million viewers, “Sister Wives” with 1.8 million, “Real Housewives” with 780,000 (which had a higher population but the Hallmark- Film Outperformed Live Viewers in Total Count), Fox & Friends Sunday (with 1.6 million live viewers), Sunday Morning Futures (with 1.8 million live viewers) and more.
The GAC Family “Winter Palace” broadcast on Saturday evening did not make it into the top 150 TV shows that day.
The next two films in the “The Wedding Veil” series will air in February. “The Wedding Veil Revealed” will air on Saturday February 12th. The synopsis reads: “In the second part of the trilogy, Emma travels to Italy to teach and research a wedding veil designed to bring love to its owner. There she met Paolo, the son of a local lace maker family. “
Then “The Wedding Veil Legacy” will be broadcast on February 19th. The synopsis reads: “In the third part of the trilogy, Tracy meets Nick, who helps her to save an original draft of The New Colossus, and in return she agrees to help him with his restaurant.” As they get closer, Tracy gets cold feet. “
