Great sadness in the network world: YouTube star Adalia Rose is dead. She was only 15 years old. The vlogger suffered from the rare Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome.

YouTuber Adalia Rose was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome when she was just three months old. This is a rare genetic defect that causes the body to age very quickly and prematurely. Signs of the disease are short stature, hair loss, the so-called “parchment skin”, bone loss and the recession of the lower jaw. The Texan was open about her illness, showed her everyday life to her more than 400,000 subscribers on Instagram and shot many YouTube videos. Now the internet star has died at the age of just 15.

Her mother confirmed the girl’s death on Adalia’s Instagram account. Captioning a picture of her daughter, she wrote: “On January 12, 2022 at 7pm, Adalia Rose Williams was freed from this world. She came quietly and went very quietly, but her life was far from it.” She reached millions of people and had a lasting impact on many people.

“She is now out of pain and able to dance to all the music she loved so much. I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is. We want to thank everyone who loved and supported her.” it says in the post.

The disease was first discussed in the medical press in 1986. There is still no cure for the rare genetic defect. Around 200 to 250 children worldwide are currently affected by Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome. Those affected die on average between the ages of 12 and 15.
